What all will I need to do a do-it-myself hot or cold fusion extensions application?
I cannot near afford to go get this procedure done at a salon. They charge ridiculous prices for application of extensions using either the hot or cold fusion method. Of course, I know I will need the u-tipped extensions and the iron to do the job myself, which I've seen several girls on youtube post videos of doing their own cold or hot fusion extensions, but I want to hear it from Yahoo Answers too, what I need other than those two things. Let me explain something to you: You are not a hairdresser and you will not be able to do your own cold or hot fusion extensions properly. Do you want your hair to twist up and snap off at the root? Because that's exactly what will happen if you don't have this done professionally. We charge so much because it is very tedious, the supplies are extremely costly, and the process takes up to four hours.
If you want extensions but can't afford the application or maintenance, make your own clip-ins. They're relatively cheap, easy to apply, and you don't have to worry about them pulling your hair out. They also stay in great condition longer, because you take them out at night. I wear them every day. Trust me on this one. I have had two clients who thought they could do their own extensions or go two months between maintenance and re-touches. It always ends the same way: dreadlocks and broken off hair.
