Please can you help me list the pros and cons of a specfic aspect in gentic engineering -the manufacture of synthetic human insulin through the use of modified bacteria. Thank you!
The pros is that they no longer have to kill cows and pigs tin order to grind up the pancreas to obtain natural insulin.
Because of this, there is MORE insulin available today than in the past.
There are no cons. "Recombinant DNA" insulin is chemically the same as "natural" insulin, and works just the same. No differences, no drawbaks.
