How to create a works cited page using APA style?
My project requires: "A Works Cited using APA style".
I know this means a Bibliography, I've done bibliographies before, but I'm guessing bibliographies in highschool (Grade 9) are different. And I don't know what "APA style"means. Could someone explain and give me an example? Thanks!
The APA Style is the set of writing, formatting, and research acknowledgement rules published in two sources :
(1) The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 5th edition 2001. It is not available online, so you would have to get it from your uni library I guess. It is a large manual so unis often write their own short guides for students. Check your uni website for their own guide (under the appropriate department, or do a site search for APA or referencing etc), and it will have any local adjustments to the rules that you should be following.
The general idea is that the text is double spaced and the references indented, as you will find at the site mentioned by aahazelip above. Each bibliography entry looks different depending what type of source you are listing, how many authors it has, etc, so it is difficult to say in one posting what is an example.
(2) The update to the electronic references section of the 2001 manual is called APA Style Guide to Electronic References, 2007. This is for bibliographies that use various web sources. Do a title search in your library catalogue and see if they have bought it, and you should be able to read it online, because this one is online, but not freely.
