GCSE Art question about my sketchbook ++ Anyone doing art gcse this year???
Ok, so I have some ideas for the project we are currently doing (food) but I'm never sure how to lay them out.
I have only done one project before (which was nature) and I'm expecting not to get a great mark on it because I included absolutly no writen evaluations and I didnt complete all the topics... anyway - my teacher left halfway through that project and now we have a new one who doesnt talk to us and wont help much.
So I want to get good marks in this project but I never know whether I should include some sort of background or border around my pages??? I used tissue paper a couple of times and watercolour washes but do you have any ideas??
I know I've rambled on but generally how are people finding this course?? I fancy knowing just because I'm quite desperate to raise my grades a bit

Masking tape is good
black card as a background
rub a wet tea bag on to paper that leaves a stained effect and can make some areas darker than others.
newspaper which is good for using charcol, pencils and chalks on top of it
Brown parcel paper
dry brushing small amount of paint on end of brush and rub it on paper until nothing is left on brush this gives a sparing effect of paint and good background.
You can also burn the ends of paper especially with tea bag effect as it looks old and rustic.
You can also use pictures photographs ect collage
I hope those background help just be creative and a good background covering paper in book is a really good mark score and also shows you have thought about colour texture ect. good luck
Use good artist references as well with your work to show you have looked into the area you pick.
Art not easy option lot of work and time consuming daughter hours and hours and hours on it especially A level even harder.
